1. What do I need to bring with me to stay at the Dorothy Day Hospitality House?
We require some form of photo identification. We waive this requirement if you are staying with us for the first time. We also screen nightly for alcohol consumption, which is prohibited.
2. Can I reserve a bed over the phone?
No, unfortunately, not. Beds are only given in-person at the House on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. Do you serve meals?
Yes, we serve dinner each evening at 6 p.m. and offer snacks, coffee, and morning breakfast as well.
4. Do you have clothing available?
We have some used coats, winter accessories, new socks, and underwear. We can also direct guests to other resources to help meet their needs.
5. Do you offer housing assistance or other services?
We work with guests to help connect them with local services and resources during their stay. A social worker is also on site each Wednesday evening to assist guests.
6. When is the Dorothy Day Hospitality House open?
We are open from 4 p.m. - 9 a.m. daily.
7. Can you accommodate children or families with children?
Yes, we can accommodate families as our capacity allows.
