Want to be our Guest? Here are some of our Frequently Asked Questions. Our volunteers are available to answer any questions you may have at (507) 282-5172 between 4 PM and 10 PM and between 6 AM and 9 AM.
1. What do I need to bring with me to stay at the Dorothy Day Hospitality House? We require some form of photo identification. All Guests must pass at least one alcohol screening per day. 2. Can I reserve a bed over the phone? No, unfortunately, not. Beds are only given in-person at the House on a first come, first served basis. 3. Do you serve meals? We offer a hot meal every night at 6 PM. We also offer cereal in the morning and guests may cook eggs. Guests may also pack a lunch to take with them for the day. 4. Do you have clothing available? We have some used coats, winter accessories, new socks and underwear. There are several nearby charities. 5. Do you offer housing assistance or other services? No, we can only provide temporary shelter. Our front desk has phone numbers for area services. 6. When is the Dorothy Day Hospitality House open? We are open from 4 PM to 9 AM daily. Registered Guests may come and go as they please, but we do enforce a curfew from 10 PM each night until 6 AM the following morning. 7. Can you accommodate children or families with children? We accept families, but space is very limited. Children under 18 must be with parent or guardian at all times.
Guests may stay from 4 PM - 9 AM. Visitors are welcome from 7 PM - 9 PM and from 7 AM - 9 AM.
